Hawaiian Historical Society Publications
The Hawaiian Journal of History
Since 1967, the Society has centered its scholarly publication program on The Hawaiian Journal of History. The journal, issued annually, includes articles on Hawaii and the Pacific area, shorter research notes, book reviews, and an annual bibliography. Copies of back issues for most years remain available from the Society.
Books
The Society from time to time publishes selected books emphasizing the use of primary sources, including translations. It also publishes a series of reprints of significant Hawaiian-language works.
Papers
Between 1892 and 1940, the Society published twenty-one numbers in its Papers series devoted to scholarly articles, as well as a series devoted to genealogy and another to reprints from early sources. A few copies of five papers in this series are still available. The Papers series is indexed in Index to Publications of the Hawaiian Historical Society, 1892-1967, by Charles H. Hunter (1968).
Annual Reports
From 1892 to 1967, the Annual Reports of the Hawaiian Historical Society included papers presented to the Society pertaining to the history of Hawaii, Polynesia, and the Pacific area. They are the predecessor to The Hawaiian Journal of History. A few copies of some Annual Reports are still available. The Reports are indexed in Index to Publications of the Hawaiian Historical Society, 1892-1967, by Charles H. Hunter (1968).
