President and Trustees to be Elected at Annual Meeting on April 26, 2007
The Hawaiian Historical Society's annual business meeting will precede the program “Chang Apana: The Real life Charlie Chan” on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the University of Hawai‘i Kamakakūokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies.
The business meeting will include presentation of the president's report for 2006–2007 and election of new trustees and a president for 2007-2008.
A nominating committee composed of C. Dudley Pratt, Jr.; Walter Ikeda; Mike Durant; and Linda K. Menton has proposed the following slate for consideration by the membership.
For president for a one-year term, May 2007 to May 2008:
- John Clark, deputy fire chief (retired), Honolulu Fire Department. Clark is the author of Hawai‘i’s Best Beaches and Hawai‘i Place Names. He has previously served on the HHS Board of Trustees.
For election for trustees for three-year terms, May 2007 to May 2010:
- Victoria Nālani Kneubuhl, freelance researcher and writer and writer/producer for the TV series “Biography Hawai‘i.”
- Glenn E. Mason, AIA, principal with Mason Architects, Inc., a practice specializing in historic preservation.
- James K. Mee, attorney with Ashford & Wriston.
